Switch Blocks and Clouds

Devlog Update ✨
Today's changes brought both some core mechanics improvements and some visual polish that makes the game feel more alive.
🔴🟢🔵 Switch Blocks
One of the big features I tackled was the color-coded switch block system. These are special walls that can be toggled on and off by hitting their matching switch with the boomerang. It feels really satisfying to flip them on/off mid-level and opens up a lot of puzzle and platforming opportunities! (note that the picture is just the first stage with the switches placed to show what they look like. It will not feature the switches in real gameplay.)
☁️ Cloud Overhaul
I also revisited the background clouds. Before, they were fairly generic clouds floating around. They did the job, but they didn’t really match the game’s style.
Now:
- The clouds have a more cohesive design that fits the world’s look.
- They’re animated, which makes the sky feel alive and dynamic rather than static.
- Paired with movement, it gives the levels extra depth and atmosphere.
✨ Next Steps
With these improvements in place, I’m getting closer to locking in the world themes and mechanics. Switch blocks are going to be a recurring element, and the upgraded visuals are helping shape the game’s identity.
