New Burrowing Enemy

New Burrowing Enemy

I’ve just finished adding a brand-new type of ground enemy to BitJump — the Burrow Enemy! This one is a little trickier than the standard walkers or flyers, because it’s made of two linked parts that behave together. As always, this enemy can be tested in the testing room.

How it Works

  • The Burrow (base) moves back and forth along the ground, leaving a little dirt trail behind it. It pauses every so often, and when it does…

  • The Burrow Enemy (head) bursts out of the burrow, jumping upward before falling back down.

  • Once it lands fully inside its burrow again, it plays a quick “returning” animation before the cycle resets. The burrow then picks a new direction and starts moving again.

Player Interaction

  • Only the enemy that pops out is dangerous to the player — touching it deals damage.

  • But the player can stomp on it, hit it with a boomerang, or blow it up with a bomb to defeat it.

  • When the enemy is destroyed, the enemy's burrow is destroyed too.

Why it’s Cool

This enemy adds a nice bit of timing challenge — you can try to attack it when it hops out, or avoid it entirely.
