King Block Progress Video (Build in Progress)
Hello all! I’ve been putting together King Block, the first real boss encounter for BitJump!
 He’s still in early prototype form, but he’s already starting to come alive (quite literally — with floating hands, charging orbs, and an attitude).
 
Right now, King Block’s core behavior is in place:
-  Phase-based patterns: He starts slow and smug in Phase 1, then gets faster and more aggressive in Phase 2. 
-  Independent hands: Each hand can attack on its own — firing fireballs, summoning jumper enemies, dropping bombs, or even charging up special volleys. 
-  New charge attack: The hands now have a charge-up state that creates a glowing, spinning orb above them before unleashing a rapid triple-fireball spread. 
-  Damage & reaction: The hands can be temporarily disabled when hit, complete with pulsing effects and hurt sprites for visual feedback. 
-  Cloak overlay and boss animations: King Block smoothly transitions between smug, mad, and hurt phases, with a looping cloak layer that keeps him looking appropriately royal. 
This video shows an early look at the prototype battle setup — the boss’s animations and attack patterns in action.
 There’s no player or arena interaction yet (still in testing mode), but it’s a great preview of how the full fight will feel.

Next steps will be integrating the player back into the boss room, syncing the music and damage systems, and balancing the pacing between attacks.
Even in this early form, King Block already feels like the perfect capstone for Bit’s adventure so far — smug, flashy, and just the right amount of over-the-top. 😈💥
