Welcome to BitJump

Devlog: BitJump Prototype Update 🚀
Hey everyone! I wanted to share an overview of where BitJump is right now and where it’s heading. The game is still very much in prototype stage, but I’d love for you to give it a try and let me know what you think!

🎮 What BitJump Is
BitJump is a fast-paced, retro-styled platformer starring a little gray cube who just wants to keep bouncing forward (and avoid those pesky red cube enemies). The goal is simple: jump, dodge, and survive through tricky stages.

🛠️ Current Features
Here’s what’s in the prototype build right now:

  • Three playable stages with hazards, enemies, and some surprises.
  • Simple, responsive controls (keyboard, mouse, and controller support).
  • Control remapping right from the title screen — set it up your way!
  • Original visuals created in Aseprite.
  • Catchy background music (powered by AI music tools).

🌍 What’s New

  • Expanded world map design — a larger, more visually engaging overworld (still only three stages, but wanted to give a sense of what would be ahead. Each region has its own look and music.
  • Cleaner menus and UI tweaks for a smoother experience.

🔮 What’s Next
This is just the beginning! On the roadmap:

  • More levels with new environments and mechanics.
  • Additional enemy types and obstacles.
  • Perhaps a proper story or overall goal for the game.

💡 How You Can Help
I’d love for you to test drive the prototype and let me know:

  • Did the controls feel smooth and intuitive?
  • Was the difficulty fair, too easy, or too hard?
  • Anything confusing or unclear while playing?

Your feedback is going to help shape the future of BitJump!
