🧱 BitJump Devlog 0.6.0 — Saving the Day! 💾


Hey everyone!

This update adds something huge under the hood — BitJump now fully supports saving and loading progress! That means your unlocked stages, collected coins, and hearts all carry over between play sessions.

✨ New System Highlights

  • 💾 Save & Load Support:
    Your progress is now automatically saved as you play. Beat a stage? Unlock a new one? It’s all stored for next time.

  • 🧠 Auto Save:
    The game now autosaves periodically in the background — and shows a small “save” icon animation when it happens.

  • 🚮 Delete Save Option:
    From the title screen, you’ll now see a Delete Save button (only if you have data). Click or press Y/N to confirm before wiping your progress.

  • 🔁 Seamless Resume:
    When you relaunch BitJump, everything picks up right where you left off — no progress lost between sessions.

💡 Under the Hood

The new system runs through a centralized data script that manages all global variables — everything from your hearts to your stage unlocks. It’s future-proofed, versioned, and even structured to prevent data loss when the game updates.

Plus, you’ll now see a small animated “Save” icon slide in whenever your progress is written to disk — a nice little reassurance that your adventure is safe.
